A&P starts school bond initiative projects in Kersey

Adolfson & Peterson Construction crews officially started construction on the 2014 Platte Valley School District RE-7 Bond initiative projects in Kersey.

Improvements will take place over a two-summer cycle to minimize impacts on the school schedule.

The work will touch almost every facility in the district, including the elementary school, middle school, high school, football stadium, and baseball and softball fields. Also included in the bond initiative is the design and construction of a new 5,000-square-foot preschool.

Together with RB+B Architects Inc., A&P will help bring the existing facilities into the 21st century.

Building automation systems, DDC controls, lighting and security packages, automation logic BACnet controls, phase protection, roof repairs, upgraded fire alarm systems, data-phone-fiber infrastructure upgrades and athletic field improvements are just some of the tasks included in the scope of work.

The project is expected to be complete between the summers of 2015 and 2016 with the majority of the work occurring during summer break.
