-Beaudin Ganze Consulting Engineers Inc. completed its ownership transition with Dan Koelliker, PE, in place as president. Koelliker is joined by Debbie Eachus, finance manager; Eric Rubotton, PE, hospitality and technology services leader; Morgan Royce, PE, New Mexico business unit leader; and Wes Ploof, PE, metro Denver business unit leader. Co-founder Denis Beaudin, former president and majority owner of the firm, which specializes in mechanical, electrical, lighting, technology, commissioning, energy analysis and LEED consulting services, completed the transition to members of the senior leadership team, all of whom are previous shareholders of the firm and together have an average tenure of more than 15 years with BGCE. Beaudin’s plans for the future include developing NRG Design Build Inc., a separate entity from BGCE with several shareholders in common. Beaudin completed the purchase of NRG in March. -H+L Architecture announced a number of leadership promotions, including naming Gary Prager, senior life practice lead, to principal and promoting Cherie Dice to director of interior design. In addition, Nandini Kane Biesk, Robert Galvin, Kaye Mullaney, Nicholas McCormick and Fernanda Pires were promoted to associate. Prager, AIA, NCARD LEED AP, CDT, has 38 years of architectural experience. His attainment of the principal title is reflective of his professional commitment to the H+L’s senior life practice, according to the architecture firm. His expertise includes creating sustainable living environments specifically for senior health care, memory care, assisted and independent living, as well as multifamily housing. Dice, NCIDQ, LEED AP ID+C, has worked on a variety of projects since joining the firm in 2006, including health care, education, advanced industries and senior life. Kane Biesk has more than 20 years of experience on a variety of project types. She has served as project architect on multiple projects as well as a medical planner on multiple high-profile area hospitals, including the new St. Joseph Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. Galvin, AIA, has participated in a variety of roles with H+L since 2006. Currently leading code compliance, quality control and office standards development, Galvin has worked in all market segments served by the company as both project manager and project architect. Most recently, he was an integral part of the St. Joseph Hospital project team. Mullaney, AIA, LEED AP, has a been a member of H+L since 2010. She has more than 18 years of experience in the industry. McCormick has been with the firm for seven years and focuses on advanced industries, education and health care projects and serves as project manager on the majority of his projects. Pires, EDAC, Lean GFBC, has dedicated her career to health care design for the past 20 years with extensive expertise with lean and evidence-based design. Currently she is working on the UCH Harmony Emergency Department project. -John Norris, president of planning and landscape architecture firm Norris Design Inc., recently was one of 12 Kansas State University alumni named as 2015 Alumni Fellows. Norris is an Alumni Fellow for the College of Architecture, Planning and Design and was on campus in April to present guest lectures. He earned a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Kansas State in 1981. -Christopher Meek joined Adolfson & Peterson Construction as the new senior project manager for the firm’s higher education market. Meek has more than 18 years of experience in the industry, completing projects across the United States, including the Cherry Creek Shopping Center renovation, various athletic complexes, and private and public schools. Brittney Warga also joined the firm. Warga is a project manager for A&P and has more than nine years of experience overseeing and managing various construction projects. Her most recent experience comes from working as a construction project manager for the University of Colorado. She earned her bachelor’s degree in architecture from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. -George Kettlewell and Kenneth “Kenny” Dearth recently joined GE Johnson. Kettlewell came to the general contractor firm with more than 33 years in electrical contracting and will serve as superintendent. Previously, he worked with Encore Electric and Riviera Electric and held multiple roles, including superintendent, operations manager and director of field resources. Projects Kettlewell has been involved with include the new St. Joseph Hospital, Microsoft Data Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Craig Hospital, Parker Adventist Hospital, the Four Seasons Hotel Denver and Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center. Dearth has spent the better part of three decades in the construction industry and joins the company as a superintendent. He brings a specialization in green building principles and has extensive experience with high-performance buildings, including LEED Platinum certification. Notable projects Dearth has been a part of include Weaver Tower and Maple Hall at Colorado School of Mines, the Niagara Water Bottling Plant in Aurora, Lewis Palmer High School’s stadium and track in Colorado Springs, and the Belmar retail and parking project in Lakewood. -Cuningham Group Architecture Inc. expanded its practice in Denver with the addition of Thomas Fridstein, FAIA, LEED AP, as the new director of development. The former executive director of Cuningham Group China, Fridstein brings more than 30 years of experience in the development, design and construction of significant buildings, urban spaces and interior environments to the full-service design firm. Fridstein will continue the expansion of the Denver office, which emphasizes educational facilities, sustainability, libraries and affordable housing. -General contractor Swinerton Builders added to its lineup of construction professionals with the addition of 10 employees to its Colorado Division who will provide construction management, site supervision, safety, building information modeling and quality assurance services. Brett Dahlin returned to Swinerton as a superintendent for the East Quad Campus High School, a new designbuild facility for Denver Public Schools near Denver International Airport. Previously, Dahlin worked on Swinerton’s construction of the Four Seasons Hotel and One Lincoln Park residential tower, both in downtown Denver. Scott Hill joined the company as a superintendent and has been assigned to the designbuild construction of the Mod 4 East Parking Structure at DIA. Michael Brown also joined the Mod 4 East Parking Structure at DIA designbuild team as an assistant project manager. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in construction science. Shawna Dias came to Swinerton’s special projects group as a project manager for commercial office and data center interior improvements and renovations. She is a graduate of the University of Washington. Shawn Burke has been named project safety manager and is responsible for developing job site-specific safety plans and training Swinerton employees and job site subcontractors. He is a graduate of Colorado State University’s Construction Management program and holds several safety certifications, including OSHA 500, 502 and 510. Christina M. Tetrick returned to the company as quality control manager. She will oversee the division’s quality control and assurance measures for a multitude of projects. She previously served as a project manager for Swinerton’s construction of the Four Seasons Hotel and One Lincoln Park residential tower. Jeremy Tolmen and Nathan Menken joined the firm’s building information modeling team. Tolmen joined as BIM manager, transferring to Colorado from Swinerton’s San Diego office. Menken is a graduate of John Brown University with a degree in construction management. Added to Swinerton’s special projects group are Senior Project Engineer Amy Weaver and Project Engineer Shelby Lee. Weaver has several years of local construction experience. Lee is an alumna of Swinerton’s internship program and a recent graduate of the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Science in business administration in real estate and construction management. -George Diestelkamp joined F&D International as a senior project manager. Diestelkamp brings nearly 30 years of experience working for El Paso County as the facilities manager for countywide capital construction projects to the full-service project management, engineering and architecture firm specializing in construction consulting services. He has contributed his expertise to a wide variety of projects, including the El Paso County Downtown Campus Expansion, THR Judicial South and West Tower Renovation projects, and minimumand maximum-security detention facilities among many other notable projects. His wide range of experience and expertise includes strategic planning, programming, energy management, construction and project management as well as hazardous material abatement. He has also been instrumental in managing and maintaining 2.5 million square feet of building space owned by the county. -Morris “Mo” Stein, FAIA, FACHA, principal and senior vice president, was promoted to regional director for the Mountain States offices of HKS Inc. Stein will maintain his position on the HKS Management Council. As regional director, Stein will manage the overall growth and efforts of the architectural design firm’s Phoenix, Salt Lake City and Denver offices. He will coordinate with each office’s respective leadership to help drive growth of HKS’ impact within eight Mountain Region states.
