An alternative technology licensing company cut its space needs nearly in half by leasing more efficient space in the Denver Tech Center. MPEG LA signed a lease for 22,000 square feet of office space in Metropoint I at 4600 S. Ulster St. in Denver. A more modern and efficient space plan will allow it to drastically reduce its occupancy needs, going from approximately 143,000 sf at Tuscany Plaza to the more modest footprint, according to Studley, which handled the transaction. The lease commences in September. “It is always gratifying to develop and subsequently implement a strategic real estate plan that has positive economic implications,” Studley Executive Vice President Jim McGrath, who represented the tenant, said in a statement. Denver-based MPEG LA is the world leader in alternative technology licenses. CBRE broker Sergio Castaneda represented the landlord in the transaction. Metropoint is a 280,417-sf office tower with recently renovated common areas, a state-of-the-art conference center and seminar/ training room.
