Starbucks opens new conceptstore in Northglenn Greens

Starbucks Coffee has opened a new drive-thru and walk-up location at Interstate 25 and 104th Avenue in the Northglenn Greens shopping center on Bannock Street in Northglenn.

The 480-square-foot concept store is only the second Starbucks location like it in the nation and a model that will be used for future stores worldwide.

The store was manufactured in the United States using a reclaimed shipping container from China. Both the inside cabinets and flooring are constructed from recycled materials. The faucets, lighting, HVAC and food refrigeration are environmentally friendly while the spray insulation is soy-based.

“Carlin Manufacturing is extremely excited to be able to partner with the Starbucks team to manufacture this unique containerized store,” said Ralph Goldbeck, partner with Carlin Manufacturing, which built the store. “From the use of the reclaimed shipping containers to the exterior cladding of recycled Wyoming snow fencing, this building is environmentally friendly and should be a great addition to the Northglenn community.” A truck brought the store to its present location in two modularized containers. All the crews had to do was place the compartments into the correct position with a large crane, hook up the utilities and install the drive-thru lane and nearby landscaping.

The Northglenn Urban Renewal Authority provided grants for approximately $43,000 to the property owner at Northglenn Greens for new signage on the property and for utility relocations to accommodate the new Starbucks.
