Stresscon provides 762 precast pieces for Cabela’s

Stresscon has completed erection of the total precast of Cabela’s corporate office building in Sidney, Nebraska.

The project features four stories of precast prestressed concrete and highlights the use of architectural precast products featuring a buff acid etch surface and bull noses, pilasters and sills. The horizontal precast walls are 16 feet tall by 32 feet wide and were custom designed to accommodate shipping from Colorado to the Nebraska build site.

A collaborative design-build team including S.A. Miro Inc., Davis Partnership Architects, GE Johnson Construction Co. and Stresscon Corp.

participated in creation of the 168,000-square-foot facility.

The precast components were erected over 33 days, bringing the entire project ahead of schedule by three weeks.

Stresscon provided 762 precast pieces, including architectural solid wall panels, columns, inverted tee beams, double tees, and other various architectural pieces. The pieces were spread through 465 loads and shipped 238 miles from Stresscon's Colorado Springs plant. Production of all precast pieces occurred over a 72-day period. Stresscon also was responsible for erecting steel stairs for the stair shafts, including the grand stairway.

With the precast erection phase complete, the interior of the project is now being finished. The grand opening is scheduled for this year.
