TerraFirma Earth Technologies completed dewatering of 100 Saint Paul LLC’s site in Cherry Creek. TerraFirma was selected by general contractor GE Johnson to install a groundwater control system and groundwater collection and treatment system designed by Terracon (the project’s geotechnical consultant) for 100 Saint Paul, a 310,000-square-foot retail and office development scheduled for tenant occupancy in summer 2015. As of Nov. 18, the steel structure rose to eight levels above grade over three belowgrade parking levels. The firm worked with the owner, general contractor and design consultants to come up with a supplemental dewatering system that averted delays and minimized costs. Of TerraFirma’s installation of the dewatering and ground water treatment system at 100 Saint Paul, David Cross of 100 Saint Paul LLC commented, “TerraFirma brought a high level of expertise and extensive knowledge base to the table when we hit the bottom of the hole. They were instrumental in bringing about a speedy resolution to unknown subsurface conditions to the benefit of the general contractor and the project owner.” Brian Lawrenson, general contractor GE Johnson’s superintendent, added, “The project is situated in the heart of Cherry Creek, with very little or no laydown. TerraFirma worked with us during the logistical challenges we faced daily. TerraFirma reacted quickly to these unforeseen conditions and was able to minimize the impact to the construction schedule.” Additional project partners include architect HKS Architects Inc. and engineer Kimley-Horn & Associates.
