The design-build team of SlaterPaull|Hord Coplan Macht and Nunn Construction were selected for the Occhiato University Center addition and renovation project on the campus of Colorado State University Pueblo. The anticipated $25 million, 166,000-square-foot student center renovation and addition will be designed by Denver-based SlaterPaull | Hord Coplan Macht and built by Nunn Construction of Colorado Springs. The student center, which includes a complete renovation of the existing 86,000-sf space with a 60,000-sf addition, is expected to be complete in 2017. “We look forward to partnering with CSU-Pueblo on another campus project and designing a forward-thinking facility that will meet the needs of the students, faculty and community,” said Jennifer Cordes, principal, SlaterPaull | Hord Coplan Macht. The new student center is slated to include new residential dining venues for up to 2,000 oncampus students, a full-service banquet kitchen facility to support community and campus events, retail dining space, student lounges, an 11,000-sf ballroom, a 200-seat theater space and a variety of office and student office facilities. “Our goal is to transform the Occhiato University Center into the primary gathering place on campus that draws students and community members to CSU-Pueblo. With our proven team, I know we will make this goal a reality,” added Tyson Nunn, president, Nunn Construction
