Matheww Lujan joined Maintenance Design Group’s Denver office as a facility designer. Lujan has a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado Denver and worked as an intern for the city of Denver Public Works Department. He brings to the firm AutoCAD experience. His responsibilities include assisting with equipment industrial design, layout and coordination as well as facility functional planning for transit, public works and related maintenance facility projects.Mark Cheeks joined Elsy Studio as senior project manager. Cheeks will be responsible for managing many of Elsy’s commercial interior design projects and supervising managers and interior designers. He also will assist with construction administration processes and adopt an internal operations role. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in the interior design and architecture industry, including serving as studio manager at Ware Malcomb, principal of Mark Cheeks Interiors and working for Rocky Mountain Prestress. His background includes creative design solutions, project and staff management, marketing and business development, and financial operations. The firm also added Nathan Applegate, information technology manager, and Jennifer Schmidt, interior designer. Applegate will work with designers and clients to draft commercial interiors for tenant improvements and new building construction. He brings more than seven years of experience in drafting in the architecture, engineering and telecommunications industries to the role. Schmidt is responsible for project administration, lease exhibits, space planning, vendor collaboration and submitting request for proposals. She has more than 10 years of professional experience in residential and commercial interior design and business development. Before joining the Elsy team, Applegate served as a design engineer for Allstate Fire Protection Inc. as well as drafting technician for QC Data, a company that provides data-centric services to support asset management, engineering and construction works, and property management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in linguistics from Brigham Young University and a certificate in CAD Drafting. Prior to Elsy, Schmidt developed her organizational skills in interior design for Waring Associates and Burkett Design in Denver. Schmidt holds a bachelor’s degree in interior design from the University of North Texas in Denton and successfully completed the AutoCAD program from Arapahoe Community College.Beuadin Ganze Consulting Engineers Inc. added four new employees to its staff. Timothy McCabe, PE, LEED AP joined BGCE’s Vail Valley office with seven years of experience as an electrical engineer. He is a member of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying and served as the assistant director of electrical engineering at his previous firm. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University. Rahul Deodhar, PE, joined the metro Denver office as a mechanical engineer. Deodhar has six years of consulting engineering experience in project management, technical planning and project delivery. His expertise is in designs for heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing; fire protection; and medical gas systems. He also performs lifecycle cost analysis and energy modeling. Deodhar has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Business Administration in project management from Benedictine University. Jeremy Johnson joined the metro Denver office as a mechanical engineer with more than 13 years of experience in the HVAC field. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado and brings a mix of formal education and field experience to the position. Anthony Block joined BGCE’s Northern Colorado office with seven years of experience as an AutoCAD drafter in the architectural/engineering industry. Block studied architectural engineering at the University of Wyoming and later received an associate’s degree in architectural computeraided design from Westwood College. He is a member of AIA and is currently studying for LEED AP certification.Eliot Hoyt, LEED GA, was promoted to principal at ValleyCrest Design Group. Recently, Hoyt led ValleyCrest Design Group’s master planning and design efforts for the Stanly Ranch Resort, a 95-acre residential resort in Napa Valley, California; supported various park planning and programming efforts for the Great Park Neighborhoods of Orange County Great Park in Irvine, California; and continues to serve on the Aerotropolis Planning Team for Denver International Airport.John Young joined Oxbow Design Collaborative as partner. Young joins the firm with more than 10 years’ experience in landscape architecture and urban design. He has experience in urban park design and master planning. Prior to joining Oxbow, he worked on both the local and national levels for both public and private clients. He earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia’s School of Environment and Design.Betsy Van Camp of Professional Service Industries Inc. was promoted to special project manager of the SCL St. Joseph special project based out of its Westminster office. Van Camp previously served as staff engineer. She earned her Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Colorado State University and has been with PSI since 2009.
