Barry Robinson was named senior vice president of Capital Hotel Management. In this new role for the hotel asset management and investment advisory firm, Robinson will be responsible for providing asset management and advisory services to new and existing clients as they grow their hotel investment portfolios through improving returns on existing properties, acquisitions and new development. Robinson is based in Denver, where CHM is involved in several projects, including the Westin Denver International Airport hotel. A 20-year hospitality industry veteran, Robinson formerly served as senior vice president of hotel investments with CHM in Hawaii before becoming executive vice president of hotel investments for Miller Global Properties LLC. He also has held a number of asset management positions with companies including Prudential Realty Group and Bass Hotels & Resorts. Robinson, who has overseen more than $2 billion in hotel assets, received a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel and restaurant administration from Cornell University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of San Francisco’s international business-executive program.Jay Richert, loan analyst and stockholder in Terrix Financial Corp., has been promoted to vice president. Richert joined the commercial mortgage banking firm in 2002 and underwrites new commercial real estate loans as well as taking on managing the Colorado servicing portfolio, verifying annual insurance compliance and operating statements for Terrix Financial’s correspondent life insurance companies. He graduated from the University of Akron with a bachelor’s degree in finance and the University of Colorado with a Master of Business Administration in finance.Craig N. Johnson was selected as the new managing director of Fairfield and Woods PC. Caroline C. Fuller, who previously held the position at the full-service law firm, will remain with Fairfield and Woods and continue her practice focusing on bankruptcy and receiverships. As a director in the firm’s litigation group, Johnson focuses on complex commercial litigation primarily for clients in the utilities, banking and financial services industries. He joined the firm in 2009.Lindsay McKae was elected to Lewis Roca Rothgerber LLP’s partnership. McKae is a transactional attorney representing a variety of lending institutions in complex finance transactions, including real estate acquisition and construction loans, assetbased and other collateralized financings, lowincome housing tax credit and tax-exempt bonds and loans, refinancings, loan workouts, modifications, foreclosures and deeds in lieu of foreclosures. She also commonly advises private and public clients on a local and regional basis on acquisitions, dispositions, development and leasing of various real estate assets. Additionally, McKae represents corporate clients on a wide array of business transactions, including formations, corporate compliance and management issues, and stock and asset sales and purchases. She is based in the law firm’s Denver office.Law firm Husch Blackwell recently promoted 13 attorneys to partnership, including three in Denver. Daniel L. Bray is a member of the firm’s financial services industry team. He advises national, regional and community banks in all aspects of their business with a focus on secured commercial lending. He has represented lenders in documenting and structuring construction, bridge, mezzanine and permanent loans, as well as syndicated and participated credit facilities. Bray also helps his banking clients resolve troubled commercial loans through loan sales, workouts, foreclosures, collections and lenderliability litigation, mechanic’s lien litigation, contested receivership litigation, bankruptcy representation and REO sales. Bray received his Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law, his master’s in international economics and international relations, with honors and distinction, from Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C., and his bachelor’s in history, with honors and high distinction, from the University of Iowa. Jennifer Haynes is a member of the firm’s real estate, development and construction industry team. She focuses on traditional real estate transactions and real estate development with an emphasis on senior housing, affordable housing, master-planned communities, resort and other mixed-use projects. She has closed hundreds of millions of dollars in commercial real estate sale and purchase transactions and has represented developers in the creation and documentation of common interest communities with favorable results. She has assisted in all areas of real estate development transactions, including zoning and other development approvals for residential, commercial and mixed-use projects. She also represents a major railroad company and has assisted in the sale of various railroad corridors. Haynes received her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law, her master’s in urban planning from the University of Illinois at UrbanaChampaign and her bachelor’s in education and social policy from Northwestern University. Michael J. Meacher also is a member of the firm’s real estate, development and construction industry team. He focuses his practice around commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, financing, development, leasing and disposition of shopping centers, office buildings, residential and commercial condominiums, and industrial properties. He has experience representing landlords and tenants in all manners of leasing transactions across all property types. Meacher received his Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee University School of Law and his bachelor’s in animal biology from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.Avison Young added real estate professionals David Hurtado, Dawn McCombs and Kortney Pedigo to the Denver office of the commercial real estate firm. Hurtado will be a principal of the firm, bringing 33 years of commercial real estate experience. Most recently he was with Hurtado Consulting Group, which he formed to provide project management, facility support and design services to major corporations. Clients included Westwood College, Chevron Products Co., Grease Monkey International, Shell Operations U.S., First Data, R.H. Donnelley and Western Union. Hurtado’s background is diverse and includes experience managing the Federal Express worldwide real estate portfolio, construction of FedEx facilities outside the U.S., and the development and implementation of a master plan for the J.D. Edwards world headquarters in Denver. As senior vice president of network operations at ICG Communications, he directed one of the largest telecommunications data network rollouts ever completed. Hurtado holds a Master of Business Administration as well as a Master of Science in telecommunications and information systems management from Christian Brothers University and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Memphis. McCombs will serve as a senior vice president. She brings nine years of commercial real estate and 15 years of construction management experience in the Denver marketplace. She has spent her entire real estate brokerage career focusing on the industrial sector and will continue to do so at Avison. Prior to joining the firm, she spent five years as a broker in the logistics and industrial group at JLL. Before moving to JLL, she was an industrial real estate broker with Cushman & Wakefield and a tenant representation specialist with Cresa. McCombs entered the commercial real estate industry after spending 15 years with Turner Construction Co. McCombs holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University. Pedigo will serve as a project manager. She brings more than five years of project management experience to Avison Young. She joins the firm from Hurtado Consulting, where she served as a project manager for two years, working closely with David Hurtado. While with Hurtado Consulting, she performed site surveys, developed the scope of work for bids, provided bid analysis for clients, and worked directly with vendors and contractors as an owner representative. In conjunction with these responsibilities, she ordered and tracked materials and equipment; managed project schedules and budgets; and provided construction administration. Before moving to Hurtado Consulting, Pedigo spent three years at Ricoh USA as an onsite move coordinator for Western Union. Pedigo currently is completing a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.sDimitri Adloff and Stefanie L. Sommers were elected shareholders and directors of Otten Johnson Robinson Neff + Ragonetti PC. Adloff joined the firm in 2008. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa, with Highest Distinction, Order of the Coif. His undergraduate degree from Colorado College is in comparative literature. As a member of the firm’s litigation and real estate practice groups, Adloff will continue to represent banking, real estate, development and business clients in connection with their commercial disputes and real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions of real property, leasing, financing, real estate related litigation, loan disputes, landlord-tenant disputes, condemnation cases and other commercial litigation. Sommers moved to the commercial law firm from another law firm in 2011. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado Law School. Sommers received her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University. She is part of the firm’s real estate and real estate finance practice groups. Her practice will continue to focus on the representation of real estate developers and commercial property owners in all aspects of their real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions of real property and leasing, as well as retail and mixed-use development.Zane Dennis, CPA, joined local accounting firm Richey May & Co. as a new tax partner and real estate practice leader. Over the course of his 25-year career, Dennis has provided tax, accounting, business and financial advice to real estate businesses both as an accountant and as a chief financial officer for a private equity group focused on commercial real estate. He also has participated in the disposition, acquisition and financing of billions of dollars of real estate, both in the U.S. and internationally. Dennis graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in accounting.
