Burdige Bishop of Arlington NCPD Episcopal Moderator St. Dominic Church invites men to Experience Emmaus retreat weekend NEW ORLEANS -- St. Dominic Church is inviting men ages 18 and older to deepen their faith and encounter Christ through the St. Dominic Men’s Emmaus Retreat, scheduled for July 24–26. Inspired by the Gospel story of “The Road to Emmaus” (Luke 24:13-35), the retreat offers participants an opportunity to walk with Jesus through prayer, fellowship, reflection and the sacraments. In the Gospel account, two disciples encounter the risen Christ while traveling to Emmaus: “Were not our hearts burning within us while He talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:32) Organizers say the retreat is designed to help men renew their relationship with God and strengthen their faith journey alongside other Catholic men. All men -- parishioners and non-parishioners alike -- are welcome to attend. The retreat begins at 4 p.m. Friday, July 24, at St. Dominic Church, 775 Harrison Ave., New Orleans, LA, and concludes after the 5:30 p.m. Mass on Sunday, July 26, back at St. Dominic Church. The retreat will be held at the W.J. Kelley Retreat Center in Bay St. Louis, MS. Transportation to and from the retreat center is provided and is included as part of the retreat experience. The registration fee is $200, with scholarships available for those in need.
