30 Gulf Pine Catholic • June 19, 2026 Nativity Dadsʼ Club shines and signs for our school!! Members of the Nativity BVM School Dadsʼ Club install the schoolʼs new sign. Nativity BVM School is grateful to members of our Nativity Dads’ Club for the building and installation of our new school sign! This sign is located at the school’s entrance on Benachi Avenue and is a great addition for visitors when locating our school. Kevin Lamey was instrumental in building a frame for our sign and gathering dads for installation. “Getting together with fellow dads is a great way to contribute our time and energy to Nativity School,” remarked Lamey. “The moms always go out of their way to make the day-to-day activities at school special for our kids so being able to contribute as a dad is a perfect way to support our school’s mission.” Tom Quinn is one of the founding members of the Nativity Dads’ Club and he is grateful for the role the club plays at the school. “Our Nativity Dads’ Club plays an important role in showing our children the example of a strong Catholic father,” stated Quinn. “Through service to our school and community, we build fellowship, strengthen our faith and model what it means to lead with humility and love.” As we approach Father’s Day, Nativity BVM School calls on the intercession of St. Joseph and we pray for our fathers to follow in his example of selfless love and dedication to family. We wish all of our school dads a very happy Father’s Day and we are grateful for all that they do to support our school!!! Nativity BVM Cathedral awarded national St. Vincent de Paul grant Members of Nativity BVM Cathedral and their summer helpers prepare grocery bags for those in need. Congratulations to the St. Vincent de Paul Conference of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral on being awarded a Friends of the Poor Grant from the National St. Vincent de Paul organization. The grant, aimed at furthering the support of local conferences nationwide, totals $5,000. The Nativity BVM Conference will use these funds to purchase groceries for their family food bags, as well as food and wellness items for our homeless population. For Nativity BVM Treasurer, Carla Stanley, this award couldn’t have come at a better time. “We always see an increase in food insecurity during the summer months,” remarked Stanley. “Children are out of school and utility bills tend to rise and sometimes families are forced to choose between these bills and groceries. Having these additional funds to support our neighbors in need is truly a blessing.” The Nativity BVM Cathedral Council operates on Tuesdays from 8:30- 10:30 a.m. out of the Sacred Heart Center, located behind the Cathedral. St. Stanislaus College celebrates eighth grade promotion ceremony Left, L-R Cade Boudreaux, Santiago Guerra, Fischer Hartl, and Charlie Paige St. Stanislaus College celebrated a milestone moment on Friday, May 22, as fifty young men officially completed their eighth grade year and took their next step toward high school. The Promotion Ceremony, held in the SSC café, marked the transition from junior high to high school for the Class of 2030 -- a celebration of growth, faith, and the journey ahead. The ceremony included Scripture readings, a reflection by SSC President Gary Blackburn, and the conferral of Certificates of Promotion. Special recognition was given to students who exemplified scholarship, leadership, and character. Award recipients included Cade Boudreaux (American Legion Award), Charlie Paige (Day Student Conduct Award), Martin Villa-Lemus (Resident Student Conduct Award), Fischer Hartl (Brother Joseph Donovan Character Cup -- Day Student), and Santiago Castillo Guerra (Brother Joseph Donovan Character Cup -- Resident Student). Eleven students were also recognized as members of the National Junior Honor Society. Congratulations to the Class of 2030 and their families on this special milestone!
