As with any charitable organization, donations are the life blood of our e orts. Without the magnanimous gi we received recently, we would not be able to extend Christian greetings to the sailors that visit our port regularly. Without sounding like a chamber of commerce, activity at the port is increasing and so are the needs of our brothers and sisters that sail these ships to our port through all kinds of weather and adversity. Because we have generous donations like yours, we are able to make Gulfport and the Mississippi Coast a stop on their journeys that seafarer’s look forward to. Wall President Letter to the Bishop On Sunday, April 19, St. Rose de Lima Parish in Bay St. Louis hosted the youth talent show. Youth from St. Therese Church of Gulfport and St. Rose de Lima Church treated the audience to a talent show that showcased their talent and versatility. The talented duo of Tasha Fierce (Tesia Lee) and Sassy Saundra (Sandra Price) very capably handled the emcee duties. They encouraged each performer to confidently showcase their talents. Our beautiful judges for the event included Sherry Hill (nurse/vocalist), Bailee Brewer (teacher/tutor), and Beverly Williams (horticulturist). Providing the music for the day was DJ Dennis Farve. Set decorations were provided by Eh’ Labat Décor, Chair Lee. The stars of the show included Lauren Hanshaw -- clarinet, Cyrus Everrett -- piano, Sam Stevick -- flute, Nora Stevick -- violine,Allenah Lee -- keyboard and vocals, Aleenah Dorsey and D’Ninyah Cooper -- dance, Luke Stevick -- trumpet and violin, Journee Smith -- vocals, Shea Hanshaw and Korey Hanshaw -- poetry. We are extremely proud of these young artists and thankful for them sharing their talents with our audience. Special thanks to Father Anil Thomas, S.V.D., and Father Hyginus Boboh, SSJ, for supporting our youth. Special thanks also to the Youth Ministry team of St. Therese Velma Johnson, Candice Seldon, Rebeca Stevick, and Amber Thomas; and the Youth Ministry Team of St. Rose Rhonda Labat, Darlene Lee, Florence, and Paul Jordan and Gwen Lawyer, as well as all the parents and grandparents who support and encourage the youth to continue to develop and display their talents.
