Gulf Pine Catholic • May 8, 2026 13 On Good Friday, the Our Mother of Mercy youth and families presented a moving Live Stations of the Cross. Through prayerful reenactment, our young people brought the Passion of Christ to life in a powerful and personal way. This experience not only deepened their understanding of Christ’s sacrifice but also allowed them to evangelize through their gifts, courage, and faith. Our Mother of Mercy, Pass Christian, youth and family present Live Stations of the Cross Grace and Grits: Reclaiming your power through Faith BY BEATRICE MITCHELL Member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Pass Christian, sponsored a Women’s Day retreat on Saturday, April 11. This was our second annual retreat. The morning started at 7:30 a.m. with Mass, Father Jas, presiding. Over 110 women were in attendance. In preparation for the event, it became evident that the women in our diocese and women of other faiths were hungry and actively seeking spiritual nourishment. There was a need to have community with other women who share some of the same struggles and joys. Their souls were fed! The love and kindness in the room was pulsating. This was just what they needed at this time in a world which is so unpredictable. It was a safe place and God was present! We had an adoration room set up for quiet time with the Lord. We had speakers who shared their stories from the depths of their souls. We had music that poured into them, and had them on their feet. We were all proud to be Sisters in Christ!!
