www.southernsenior.info 23 Always looking out for the good of all.” Scotty Fletcher, the current head coach for PRCC women’s basketball and Athletic Director reflected on the impact of Dr. Lewis on himself and others. “When I think of Dr. Lewis, the first thing that comes to my mind is his character. He defines it the way he goes about his day to day life. He is a humble individual and a servant leader. The impact that he has made so many lives over the years as a teacher, a coach, a businessman, a school superintendent, and of course, a college Pres- ident, is what makes him so special,” Fletcher stated. “He gave me an op- portunity to lead a pro- gram at a place (PRCC) that meant so much to me as a stu- dent athlete and now as a coach and ad- ministrator. For me, personally, he’s like a father figure. And then I look at my recent wedding, where he and Ms. Janet Gale played a special role for me during that time with me being without my par- ents at an early age. Knowingly and unknowingly, the impact they have made on me is beyond words. I could live life twice and never be able to pay it back.” Today, when they make it back to the campus for events, it’s a different according to Janet Gale, but not completely. “I used to know everybody. I remember one time when Dr. Thames at Co-Lin told us that about every three years, you won’t know half the people at a community college. And now, there are some new faces I see, and I don’t know them,” Janet Gale shared. “But, it still feels like home.” William and Janet Gale with basketball coaches Scotty Fletcher(left) and Chris Oney (right) S
