Some Boomers in the Deep South borrowed Caribbean vibes to write Swamp Pop. The upper East Coast of the United States has vastly sup- ported Rapp and Bebop. Over this timeframe many musical talents gained international fame because of the high acclaim and support granted them by the Baby Boomer Generation. Just about anyone between the ages of 74-56 today can admit to being moved or encouraged by their favorite musical genre. Consider the love conquering Patsy Cline, the dancing James Brown, Jimmy Hendrix’s wild guitar, the melodic voice of John Lennon, and the road riding songs of Willie Nelson. And let’s not leave out The Doors, Whitney Houston, BB King, Fleetwood Mack, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Aaron Neville, The Beetles, Dr. John, Ann Murray, and Bob Marley. This mentions a lot, but surely not all. Notably, the Baby Boomer musicians were born between the Big Band Swing Era and The British Invasion. They made their mu- sical influence predominately in the 1960’s, 1970’s, and 1980’s. Their verses of love, hope, pain, and joy guided listeners in nav- igating life. For those younger generations sharp enough to cruise through Golden Oldies playlists, Baby Boomer Music Genres can elevate their world as well. S Lynne Adams Barzé moved to Picayune MS with her husband after a heritage of six generations in New Orleans. Complet- ing a 30-year civilian career for the Department of Defense, she became an antique dealer and opened Barze’ Place An- tique & Collectibles Mall in 2004. However, what Lynne’s done longer than anything else is write. She wrote and sent a poem to John Glenn when she was just twelve. She continued with poetry and essays over the years but wrote her first novel in 2013 titled Revenge & Perseverance. Now she has com- pleted ten novels; still composes poetry, often on request; and dabbles in writing short stories. She also enjoys freelance jour- nalism and has written for The New Orleans Plants & Gar- dens Magazine and The Tennessee Valley Bugle Internet Magazine.
