People born from 1946-1964 are considered members of the “Baby Boomer Generation.” Service men returning fromWWII had been born raised during the Great Depression. Those same soldiers were returning home during a time when the United States was experiencing an eco- nomic abundance. The young men and women of that era set about establishing and raising large families. Over that progressive span of 18 years, the many well provided for children became known as the Baby Boomer Generation. The group, in mass, is estimated to represent nearly 20% of the American Public today. Something else that was growing, over the same time as the pop- ulation expanded, was a number of music genres. Just as the “Boomers” spread and grew up in different places and ways, so did the various types of music genres multiply. - The hardships and poverty of the Southern Delta fueled the pas- sion of the Blues.
