He never knew, or seemed not to know, of my protection. We were at our daily devotional one evening and the speaker held up a pair of sneakers that had no shoe strings. He then asked, “what’s missing?” Before anyone could reply, Roger yelled out “feet!” We all laughed, this was what I was think- ing. That is when Roger became my new best friend. When you think outside the box, most of the time you are misunderstood. Really, all shoes need are feet. I remembered a sermon I had heard years ago. The pastor said, “as graduates of the Salva- tion Army you are presented with a pair of shoes.” The thought was that you are to go out and spread the Gospel, not sit behind a desk. Jesus told his disciples, in the book of Mark, to go in twos and spread the Gospel. He said to them that if you are rebuked, dust off your sandals and leave. Isaiah 52:7 says “How lovely on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who announces peace and brings the good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, and says to Zion, your God reigns!" I don’t know what ever happened to him, but I think he is doing well. You see Roger was right, all those sneakers needed were feet; even though there were “ no strings attached. ” www.southernsenior.info 29 Solution to Crossword Puzzle S
