Understanding this allows patients and families the ability to exercise that right and choose the hospice that best fits them. Another thing that Solace Hospice is being known for is their family like approach. Every patient, family member or situation is approached as if it were our family member. Whether it is 2pm on a Tuesday or 2am on a Saturday, if there is something that the family needs or an issue we know about it and are doing something to help. The family isn’t left to fend for themselves. Why? Because if it were my family member I would know, and that is how we will conduct our business. Carley Davis owner of Solace Hospice stated, I truly don’t believe that large corporations should be able to provide hospice care. I know some large corporations that may, be offended by that statement, but that is my personal opinion Davis said. Corporations don’t know the person on the other end of a name, all they know is the profit margin. In so many areas of healthcare that is the way it has become. The nurses and the care providers that work for those corporations, see that everyday. They are great people and want to take the best care of their patients, but are not allowed due to corporations placing profits first. We made a commitment to provide the best care to every patient that we have, and know that in return we will be successful. For those things that we aren’t allowed to do, we have established a foundation, and conduct fund raisers which allow for even more help with certain things that aren’t in the realm of the hospice. That’s just another aspect of how we will do whatever it takes to make sure we can provide the best care for our patients. When a family is looking into hospice care, you should speak with an expert on hospice. Not just any expert but an honest source that will have the patient and families best interest in mind. Our nurses can be reached at any time, for consultations. If a patient lives in an area where another hospice has a better response time, our Nurses, Social Workers, or staff will tell you that, and help you find the hospice that best suits you. There are some really good hospice companies out there, and if we need to refer one we will if that is what is best for the patient. There are some areas of the state that we don’t cover, but we will find you help. I encourage people if they have any questions call. Regardless of if your loved one is ready for hospice or not, getting the knowledge and information ahead of time, makes it easier on the caregiver. It’s never to soon to educate yourself on the types and quality of care for your family.
