Resolution #531-21 A Resolution to Support the Proposed Legislation to Designate Avi Kwa Ame National Monument in the State of Nevada. CRIT is a federally recognized Indian Tribe comprised of members of Mohave, Chemehuevi, Hopi, and Navajo descent. The Aha Macav, or Mohave, people of Yuman Descent and Patayan Pre-Historic Man of Tribe have called the deserts, mountains, and waters of Arizona, Nevada and California that surround the current reservation lands their home since immemorial and the Chemehuevi of the Tribe lived nomadically upon the land. CRIT is committed to the preservation and protection of its waters, cultural resources, habitats, and sacred sites. CRIT wishes to sup- port the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe and National conserva- tion groups to establish the Avi Kwa Ame National Monument in southern Nevada that would preserve Indigenous cultural sites and critical environmental habi- tat. CRIT holds entitlements to Colorado River water in the states of Arizona and California as specified in the Consolidated Decree of the Supreme Court of the United States in the case of Arizona v. California, et at., entered March 27, 2006 (547 U.S. 150), as it may be further modi- fied ("Consolidated Decree"). CRIT approved an Agreement Among the United States of America, through the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, the State of Arizona, through the Arizona Department of Water Resources, the Central Arizona Water Conservation District, and the Colorado River Indian Tribes to Fund the Creation of Colorado River System Water Through Voluntary Water.
