Page 27 Copyright 2021 The Colorado River Indian Tribes (CRIT) formerly known as the Colorado River Indian Reservation, was brought into American existence in 1865 when the United States by Act of Congress officially recognized their idea of the captured boundary of the Mohave peo- ple; which is what still exists today although, their original boundaries extended all the way into Mexico. The Colorado River Indian Tribes is now made up of a total of four tribes, the Mohave, Chemehuevi, Hopi and Navajo and enjoys a vibrant cultural community of members, unlike any other tribe. The current tribal population is 4,560 members. The Manataba Messenger is the official publication of the Colorado River Indian Tribes with headquarters and publication address on the Colorado River Indian reservation and within the State of Arizona. As such, it is the publication legally qualified to publish official legal notices as required by law. (A.R.S. 39-201,202,203,204,205). He was a father to Terri Lynn Avery, Leto Ray Dick, Desiree Hartt, Jor-El Yellowboy, Jarain Yellow Boy, and Journey Yellow Boy. He was stepfather to Warren Ray, Lomavuyouma Kooyaquaptewa, and Shauniqua Mayfield. Scott “Merv” December 24, 1955 - August 4, 2021 Merving "Merv" Scott Jr., age 65, of Parker, Arizona passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Merv was born December 24, 1955. He was a former Colorado River Indian Tribal Councilman that held the positions of Tribal Council Treasurer and Tribal Council Secretary. Husband to Dee Scott. Father to Lawrence Scott, Kaleigh Salamanca, and Bronte Lerma. Son of the late Merving Scott Sr. & the late Patricia Fisher-Scott. Brother to the late Brady Scott & Augustine Scott. His sisters are Susan Lee, the late Becky Scott, the late Lois Scott, and the late Tammy Scott and Erica Scott.
