Page 14 CANDIDATE FOR TRIBAL COUNCIL TIM STEVENS-WELSH CANDIDATE FOR TRIBAL COUNCIL ETTA ANDERSON Tim Stevens-Welsh is 36 years old and a member of the Colorado River Indian Tribes (Mohave). I have been a CRIT legal advocate in CRIT Tribal Court and have been for the past 9 years. As an advocate I appear in legal proceedings (Criminal, Civil and Juvenile). I use my advocacy to give back and promote the well being and safety of our tribal members and community. I have also helped reform the restraining order procedure as well as the public records request policy while employed at CRIT tribal court. I am currently involved with The 7g Foundations, which is a non-profit, and dedicates itself to become a resource for native youth throughout native America to show- case athletics and academics. I currently volunteer my time to work with the Strong Hearted Native Women's Coalition. I believe in the powerful message and services this program provides, that is greatly needed in many of our communities, but most importantly to create awareness in our communities and beyond. I have decided to run for CRIT tribal council to be apart of the solutions of the many issues that our reservation and people have endured from all aspects of; business; policy, legal, laws of the CRIT reservation and it's people. I have the strength and integrity it will take to be a council member and fulfill this role with the crit people in mind and heart always. s/ Tim Stevens-Welsh I am Etta F. Anderson a lifelong resident and Tribal member of the Colorado River Indian Tribes. I am and was raised as the eldest daughter of the late Bernard and Alberta Thomas. I am the granddaughter of the late Faith Smith and Kermit Anderson. I am a descendant of the "Oach" clan. I still have my baby sister, Judy L. Thomas maintaining and keeping our family ties strong. I am the proud mother of (2) sons Adam C. Sevada and Mitchell B. Sharp. My greatest treasures are my grandchildren, whom I have 3 girls and 3 boys. I am seeking a position for a (4) year term on the Colorado River Indian Tribes Council. This has been a heartfelt decision, up to the moment I am preparing this information. I have many concerns that guided me to finalize my decision to seek a Tribal Council position. During my campaign I will bring forth and explain in depth what I believe can be improved, through teamwork and strong leadership. My position is a selfless act and I want to be your voice and your leader that can help in making changes that will benefit our Elders, Tribal members and our future generations. I plan to focus on: • Transparency • Open door policy • Open lines of communication/awareness • Prioritizing our Membership I want to be an advocate of the people and assure that I can do what is right. I fully understand I am but one person, but I want to hope that a new team is forthcom- ing and will broaden our Tribe and its membership. Please, when you vote, look at a person's sincerity and willingness to work for you! I am walking into this challenge with All members at heart and willing to work for the people! ask for your vote and look forward to your support during this time. s/Etta Anderson
