I am married to Tracy Alcaida; I have 3 sons (Chase, Jerrod & Nick) and 1 daughter (Berta Dustine). I have 8 grandchildren. I am also known as “Uncle Jimmy” to many other children. Views & Concerns: How the outside political races will affect CRIT. How the current Tribal Government is operating. I hope to be elected to help in leading us into a new and brighter future. I hope to accom- plish this with my background, leadership, and devotion to CRIT.If elected, I will work my hardest to bring CRIT together as one of the strongest reservations. To establish a more prosperous reservation by developing new economic growth and improving our current income sources.Thank you for your support and your vote. LET’S DO THIS TOGETHER! s/Jimmy Alcaida Hello to all of my CRIT membership; I am coming to you for your consideration for a position on our Tribal Council. I have submitted my petition for a four-year seat. There are a lot of issues and concerns that have driven me to you the membership for consideration regarding asking for your support during this campaign and after. As your leader, I have a commitment to an open-door policy for you the membership. I make a commitment to be avail- able even when the administrative offices are closed. As I have done in the past, I will continue to provide what assis- tance I can regarding your issues and concerns. CRIT has an array of services available to our community. I have a strong belief in thinking outside the box to make things occur and how it can be done through a team approach. I bring to the table an array of experience through my work experience. I have knowledge of civil law within the legal system, having served as a Tribal Advocate in our Legal Aid Office and practicing in Tribal Court and outside. Recognition was granted to provide representation during appeals regarding Social Security Disability benefits, work- ing with Internal Revenue Service, Advocating for our children within the Tribal Court system, and working with the State Courts, etc. I have an array of experience within the Department of Health Services programs, having worked as an AfterCare Therapist, Education and Prevention Coordinator working with our youth, and representing our tribe as the Tribal Rep on the Commitment to Excellence Conference Committee and serving as both the Youth Coordinator and the Conference Chair. The conference entailed working with the Seven River Tribes along the Colorado River, Indian Health, and various other organizational representatives. I was detailed to Social Services as the Program Manager to bring the department back into contractual compliance. This was accomplished all within a year, and the tribes were able to continue their BIA funding. This was accomplished through my knowledge of our tribal contracts and the staff's hard work at that time. This was accomplished through oversight and monitoring by the BIA Area Office when a dry Audit run and Program Audit were completed. I bring to our membership an array of experience within the Administrative area, such as experience in Quality Assurance of our contracts within programs I have worked with. I bring the knowledge of what it takes to pull data together and compiling for dollars that we are looking at to begin and fund a program. These are just a few of the work experiences I bring. Through my years being back home, I have served on various boards and committees, not only in the tribal realm but within our Community, state, and federal levels. I am very proud to be a founding board member of our crisis shelter. All the hard work we did to bring our needs to the forefront with Domestic Violence and our home- less issues in our community. I was honored to serve at the Federal level as our representative on the National Indian Health Board; IHS, Phoenix Area representative on Injury Prevention; Phoenix Area representative on the IHS Budget Formulary Working. This budget group then presented the budget proposal for the National IHS Budget to the Secretary of State. I was honored to serve as one of the spokepersons in presenting the budget for consideration at the National Level. This is but a tip of accomplishments that I have done as an advocate in representing CRIT. I bring a strong family strength that was instilled in me by my parents, Fred and Ernestine Sharpe, that to accomplish anything, you have to be willing to get in and do the dirty Grinch work. I continually strive in all my work, ethics of strong pride in who I am, a strong, educated, Chemehuevi woman who has a deep grounding in all that I have taught by those before. I teach and pass on what has been instilled in me, understanding that these results are for those who are yet to come. Your consideration in considering me as one of your four Tribal Council Members is appreciated vote on December 5 for Amanda Barrera.
