Page 8 COLORADO RIVER INDIAN TRIBES CONTINUED FROM PAGE 7 RESOLUTION 54-20 EXTENSION TO AUGUST 31, 2020 July 29, 2020 WHEREAS, the Colorado River Indian Tribes approved Resolution No. 54-20 on April 1, 2020 requiring all non-essential businesses to close and all non-essential personnel to stay at home until April 30, 2020 and extended until July 31st, 2020 by Resolution No. 99-20, 75-20 and 61-20; and WHEREAS, the Colorado River Indian Tribes continues to be in a state of emer- gency and the risk of an outbreak of COVID-19 continues to be a grave danger to the Colorado River Indian Tribal member and non-tribal community; and WHEREAS, the Colorado River Indian Tribes community has seen a surge in posi- tive coronavirus cases from 1 case reported on May 1st to 288 cases and 4 deaths total reported on July 25th, 2020; and WHEREAS, the closure of non-essential businesses and stay at home order approved by Resolution No. 54-20 must continue in effect to mitigate and slow the spread of COVID-19. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Tribal Council of the Colorado River Indian Tribes that the Colorado River Indian Tribes hereby approves extend- ing Resolution No. 54-20 until August 31st, 2020; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall take effect immediately and shall remain in effect until August 31st, 2020, or until Tribal Council, in consulta- tion with public health officials, determines that the threat has decreased and these restrictions can be lifted; and BE IT FURTHER AND FINALLY RESOLVED that the Tribal Council Chairman and Secretary, or their designated representatives, are hereby authorized and directed to execute any and all documents necessary to implement this action. July 30, 2020 Two (2) New Positive Cases of Coronavirus for the Colorado River Indian Tribes The Colorado River Indian Tribes has been notified of two (2) new positive cases of coronavirus resulting from individuals who were tested at the Parker Indian Health Center. These individuals are residents of the Colorado River Indian Reservation. This brings the total to 292 positive cases for the Colorado River Indian Tribes. Of these cases, four (4) are hospitalized outside the area. There have been five (5) Tribal community member deaths due to COVID-19. All Covid Positive Press Releases included this statement: The Department of Health and Social Services will work in conjunction with Parker Indian Health Center to identify and notify any persons that these individuals may have had contact with recently. If you have any symptoms such as fever, shortness of breath, cough, sore throat, headache, myalgias (body aches), chills, repeating shaking with chills, and new loss of taste or smell please contact the Parker Indian Health Center or your primary physician. All residents on CRIT reservation are reminded to follow the CRIT Stay at Home Order, Resolution No. 54-20 along with the Reservation wide face mask require- ment, in order to protect themselves and their households. Everyone is also reminded to stay at home except for essential tasks and limit contact with anyone who is not a member of your immediate household. CRIT has implemented the Reservation Wide Face Mask Requirement, requiring all individuals, businesses and patrons on CRIT reservation to wear a face mask when in public. Face masks have been and still continues to be MANDATORY for all CRIT Employees and any persons conducting business at the CRIT Tribal Office Complex. The best ways to protect yourself are to take certain precautions including: • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water is unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. • Wear a face mask when you must leave your home to conduct essential tasks. • Avoid close contact with anyone outside of your immediate household. • Stay home when you are sick. • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces. Cover your cough or sneezes with a tissue and immediately discard the tissue in the trash.
