Page 7 PARKER UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT Superintendent’s Update March 23, 2020—Mr. Brad Sale 1. Governor Ducey has ordered all schools closed through April 10. We include all activities and sports CANCELLED during this time. 2. Breakfast and lunch are being served in a grab and go method at the same time. The hours are from 7:30-9:30 AM. Locations are Wallace Dome, CRIT Fire Station in Poston, Mochem, and the lot across from the boat ramp on Cienega Springs Rd. This may change so that I will update. We are looking at if we will need more locations. Kids must be present to receive the go bags. 3. Starting this Wednesday, teachers will have work for the kids to do. We are going to start with grade-level packets for our elementary students in grades K-6. If this continues, we will explore additional avenues to provide instruction. Children/parents can pick up the packet at the meal drop-offs, principal’s office, or online. Grades 7-12 will look different. Some will have a packet of work in the individual class; other may use technology such as Youtube, zoom, or google meet/docs to get the work and lessons out to their students. 4. Keep up to date by checking our district website, school websites, and individual teacher websites. 5. Special education services will continue but will be using an alternative method, and outside services may continue with parent permission. If a parent was invited to a meeting, the meeting could still be held either in person or by other means (telephone, zoom, etc.) Please visit our website at www.parkerusd.org for more information and be on the lookout for our One Call Now notifications. We appreciate your patience and understanding in these trying times.
