Lawn Bowling Club Submitted by Tish Murphy March brought many tournaments and hot afternoons as well as cool windy days and nights. We had our first Doubles Open Select League where teams could choose their own partner. The league was won by Rick Darke and Michael Jahr. Triple Tournaments followed and it was a simple round robin won by first place winners Larry Brownell, Pam Gass and Bev Coutts. Horst Mueller, Jens Pederson and George Chrouser came in second place. Rick Darke, Kevin Cheff and Glenda Rodabaugh came in 3rd place. Jack Spalding/Barry Tocheri, Barry Stuecker and Ann Manikel came in as 4th place. The social committee, Judy Brownell, Barbara Nelson and Brenda Cutras provided some nourishment mid-day for the players. It was a challenging but fun day. A Singles Tournament and our annual USA vs. Canada International showdown followed. Results of those games next month! Check the post for lesson schedules. In the LW Swim Club aqua exercise group, we sing a little, laugh a lot, and enjoy the company of old and new friends. Our program of exercises emphasizes balance and stretching from head-to- toe, lasts approximately 45 minutes, and is available on a drop-in basis Monday - Saturday at the Rec 1 pool. We are a volunteer resident-led group, and the exercises are free. As of Monday, May 2, we will be changing over to our official summertime slot: 9:00AM. The 1:00PM exercise group will end on Saturday, April 30. All exercise will continue to be at the Rec 1 pool, unless and until construction projects necessitate a change. Drop in anytime! As we always say, “C’mon in, the water’s fine!” Tennis Club Submitted by Sue Weber All LW residents are invited to play Drop-In tennis Monday-Saturday from 7:30am-9:00am on courts 3, 4 and 8.
