Leisure World News • Golf • December 2021 B31 Guys and Dolls Golf Submitted by Carole Foley Guys and Dolls golf is back for the 2021 - 2022 season! Guys and Dolls is a fun couples’ golf group (one man and one woman) that plays 18 holes of golf at Heron Lakes on the rst and third Sundays from December through March. Our rst day of play is on Sunday, December 5. All players must have a Leisure World handicap. If you do not have a handicap established, please see the Heron Lakes Pro Shop before the day of play to obtain a provisional handicap. Sign up at Heron Lakes before noon on ursday prior to Sunday play. Play begins with an afternoon shotgun start, followed by a social. Social events are BYOB and bring a snack to share. e cost is $5 per couple for sweeps and social, plus green fees. Special events will have an extra fee. Heron Lakes Ladies 9-Hole League Submitted by Peggy Babb Our league o cially will begin on November 23 when Heron Lakes reopened. A donut “hole-in-one” will kick o our outing. Lunch will follow with salads from Salad and Go and our rst general meeting. On Tuesday, December 7, we will host our annual Christmas party for the Heron Lakes Ladies 18-Hole Club. is is always a festive event. We will play 14 holes of golf and enjoy a luncheon together. Our major fundraiser is Tuesday, January 18. We host an Invitational for six other golf leagues from six other communities. It is our chance to show o the amenities Leisure World has to o er. is year’s theme is “Puttin’ on the Ritz.” We have planned several special events. We enjoyed meeting and chatting with prospective members at the Leisure World Activity Fair. Several joined our league. We look forward to gol ng and socializing with them. e return of many of our members is exciting! It is wonderful to be reunited!
