We wish you a big, warm and fuzzy Merry Christmas! Putting up the tree, buying and wrapping presents and decorating the house with joy and cheer. We tend to seek happiness, but happiness is a choice. So, choose wisely and reap the benefits of love and good friends! This month is the month of our Savior’s birth. What a joy to celebrate it with song! On Monday, December 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the Rec. 1 Ballroom, come to Let’s Do Something. Please bring a dish to share with your own plate and silver/plastic ware. Our cooks are the best in Leisure World because they are you — the residents — who go out of their way to serve scrumptious homemade fare. We will have Emily Smith’s traveling musical entourage to entertain us this holiday season. We loved them so much before, so they can only be better! There is not a better time to sing songs, renew friendships and eat awesome food than this time of the year! For more information, please contact Vella Rose Smith at 602-616-3121 or Charlotte Lowell at 480-396-5466. Lions Club Submitted by Lion Carolin Lowy The Leisure World Lions Club will once again be assisting with the annual Santa Parade on Thursday, December 23. Full details will be available from the Recreation Office, so please plan on decorating your golf cart, bicycle or car and join the fun! Lion Carolin Lowy is once again offering two different dining options for you and your friends at her home. Afternoon Tea for eight guests for $140 or an English Country dinner for eight guests for $250. All funds go directly to the Lions Treasury. To make reservations, please contact Lion Carolin at 480-641-4626. All Lions wish our neighbors and friends a safe and happy holiday season! We look forward to offering our various services in 2022. LW Chorus Submitted by Bruce Collier You may have experienced a similar situation: You walk into a crowded peaceful place, you look around and see nothing but gentle people. Then, maybe you think, “Gosh! It seems like there are angels among us!” At the end of the year, December provides both fun and challenges. Maybe the challenges become Christmas shopping blues. But then, seemingly as if by magic, your Leisure World Chorus reappears transforming those two instances into a musical yule escape for the first time since our 2019 holiday show. We have got a great program to perform for you on either Saturday, December 11 at 7:00 p.m. or Sunday, December 12, at 3:00 p.m. Both will offer warm feelings and wonderful music in the Hopi Pima Room in Rec 2. Tickets are available at the Recreation Office in the Rec. 1 courtyard. Merry Christmas! We hope you will join us! Our passion is antiques, preservation and restoration. We meet the second Monday of the month. We met on Monday, November 8 at manor 1136 and discussed the 2021-2022 schedule and suggestions for places to visit this next year. On Monday, December 13, we will be touring the Superstition Mountain Museum. Our project for this year will be to reframe the pictures of the movie stars who have filmed at Apache Land. We will meet at the Rec. 1 parking lot at 9:00 a.m. and carpool to the museum. For more information, please contact Robyn Morin at 715-308-2354 or Kathy Hilger at 763-670-0804.
