Clifford Phillips Clifford “Vernon” Phillips, age 75, of Stockbridge, Ga., died Sat- urday, March 10, 2018. Vernon was born in Atlanta, Ga., to the late Clifford Albert Phillips and Ruby Lorene Branan Phillips. Mr. Phillips was the owner oper- ator of Vernon’s Barber Shop in Stockbridge serving the citizens of Henry County for 50+ years. He loved watching the Georgia Bulldogs play football. Vernon was a huge fan of Elvis and espe- cially fond of his Gospel albums. Vernon is survived by his daughters, Kally Phillips, of Mc- Donough, Ga., and Kim Phillips, of Atlanta, Ga.; and soon-to-be grandchild affectionately called “Bean.” Amemorial service was held on Sunday, March 25, 2018 in the East Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. Donald Allen Shepard Mr. Donald Allen Shepard, age 71 of McDonough, Ga., passed away March 12, 2018. He was born in Georgetown, Kentucky to the late Everette and Marjorie Lucille Smith Shepard. Shep faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corp with two tours in Vietnam. He re- tired after 34 years with Delta Airlines and was a member of County Line United Methodist Church in Griffin. Don loved to spend time with his family, enter- taining and attending family functions. He enjoyed the beach and was an avid golfer. He espe- cially enjoyed a good bargain and wanted everyone to take advan- tage of his coupon foraging. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Harris. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ronna Shepard of McDo- nough; children, Erica Shepard of Griffin, Christina Barter of Mc- Donough and Jonathan (Christin) Shepard of Buford; grandchil- dren, Jesse, Skylar, Millie and Jackson; great granddaughter, Aurora; siblings, Wilma (Don) Daugherty of Kentucky, Joyce Cornett of Lakeland, FL and Everette (Carole) Shepard, Jr. of San Diego, Ca.
