Gulf Pine Catholic
8 Gulf Pine Catholic • November 22, 2024 Dear Brothers and Sisters in our Lord, As I have traveled throughout the Diocese of Biloxi this past year, I have been heartened by the communities of faith I have encountered in our parishes, schools, and ministries. The Spirit of our Lord, Jesus Christ, is very much present and alive in our midst. I am especially encouraged by the parishes and schools that are leading the way in our efforts to follow the Great Commission of Jesus Christ in the Gospel of Matthew 28:19-20 to “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” We are all called to be disciples of Jesus. Due to your generosity and faithful support, this past year we were able to begin new ministries that allow us to reach out to even more people to share the love of God, including the new Mercy Cross Center for the homeless. In the midst of our ever-changing world, our faith and our Church continue to be a visible sign of hope, charity, and comfort to us, and to those we are called to serve in the name of Jesus. Together, united in the love of Christ, we continue to meet the challenges of our present moment and move closer to full discipleship in Christ Jesus. As you read this State of the Diocese Report, please know that it is your kindness and loving generosity that make everything we do in the Diocese of Biloxi possible. Be assured of my prayers for you and your loved ones. Sincerely yours in Christ, Most Reverend Louis F. Kihneman, III Bishop of Biloxi
