10 Gulf Pine Catholic • November 8, 2024 Red Mass invokes blessings upon members of the legal community, elected officials The annual Diocesan Red Mass invoking the blessings of the Holy Spirit over the legal community was held on October 13 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral in Biloxi. The annual Mass is attended by judges, lawyers and public officials. Bishop Louis F. Kihneman III was principal celebrant and homilist. Judge Jennifer Schloegel, judge of the Mississippi 8th Chancery District Court, gave a talk at the end of Mass. Photos/Terry Dickson Healthcare professionals recognized during annual White Mass The Annual White Mass was held on October 27 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral in Biloxi. The White Mass, so named by the color worn by those in the healing profession of medicine, is celebrated in recognition of the dedicated work of healthcare professionals and to ask God’s blessing upon patients, doctors, nurses, and caregivers.
