Cathedral, Biloxi, Sept. 17, Vincentians Brothers and Sisters ~ A celebration of Frederick Ozanam, founder of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, will be held on Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral, 870 Howard Avenue. The celebration begins with a Mass, then a short photo shoot session, and finally, a potluck luncheon for all to attend. This year we’re celebrating the lifelong works of four of our Vincentians: Mary Francis Ford, William (Bill) Migley, Darlene and Mike Barry. Each has been nominated and will receive the coveted honor of Jubilarian. They will receive the unique Jubilarian Cross, which will be blessed and presented by Bishop Louis F. Kihneman III. ► St. Michael Parish, Biloxi, Sept. 21, Ultreya ~ Ultreya will at St. Michael Parish Life Center, Biloxi, Sept. 21, 7 p.m. The lay speaker will be Major General Jeffery W. Hammond. He is a retired United States Army officer who previously served as the commanding general of the 4th Infantry Division and commander of U.S. forces in Baghdad, Iraq. He has the following commenda- tions: Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, and Army Commendation Medal.
