This is an evening for all to come and worship the Lord in the pres- ence of His Eucharistic body. There will be music and the Sacrament of Reconciliation available. We encourage you to bring your families. ► St. Mary Parish, Biloxi (Wool- market), Sept. 24, Mass for Special Needs People ~ The Oran Caravan of the Order of Alhambra along with St. Mary Catholic church in Woolmarket will be hosting their next special Mass for people special needs on Sun., Sept. 24 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Woolmarket. Mass will be at 3 p.m. This Mass is designed primarily for Catholics who are intellectually and developmen- tally disadvantaged however, it is open to all people who wish to attend and fulfills the Sunday Mass requirement. Refreshments will be served following the Mass. If you would like to participate or for more information, please contact Jim Rigby at (228) 435-5665. ► Holy Family Parish, Pass Christian, Sept. 27, Healing Ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi ~ Holy Family Parish in Pass Christian will host a night of healing with Adoration, prayers of deliverance, sacrament of Reconciliation, anointing of the sick, and one-on-one pastoral counseling. It will take place Wed., Sept. 27, 6:30 p.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, 22342 Bulletin Board From page 2 SCHOOL NEWS Our Lady Academy (OLA) will host a 5K Run for Mercy & 1 Mile Fun Run on Sat., Sept. 23, beginning at 8 a.m. in memory of a dynamic & devoted English teacher, Mary Alice Benvenutti, & one of the most memorable & spiritual Crescent icons, Coach Harry Hull. Proceeds from the race will benefit the scholar- ship in their name. The race time is at 8 a.m. & the 1 Mile Fun Run begins immediately following the 5K. The start & finish lines are at the Washington Street Pier in Bay St. Louis. There is also a virtual 5K avail- able for those who aren’t able to attend. In conjunction with the event, drop boxes have been designated around the local community to encourage donations of new or gently used tennis shoes. The shoes will be presented to local commu- nity outreach ministries. There is always an on-going need for slightly worn shoes as walking is the only means of transportation for many of the participants of both outreach ministries. Men’s, women’s, & chil- dren’s tennis shoes of all sizes are welcome. The drive will run until Sept. 22. “We are excited to host this special event and char- ity shoe drive in honor of two phenomenal Crescent role models, Benvenutti & Coach Hull. The past 5K Run events’ proceeds have helped many students con- tinue their education at OLA. In addition, the tennis shoe drive will help many adults & children in the community. Last year’s drive was a tremendous suc- cess, & we look forward to another successful drive. We’ve added more drop off locations along the coast to encourage more donations,” said Leigh Chapman, OLA assistant principal.
