Nativity BVM Elementary School celebrated the start of the 2023-24 school year with a celebration of Mass in conjunction with The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Mass was celebrated by the Most Reverend Father Godfrey Andoh who preached the importance of obedience as a goal for Nativity’s students. Nativity’s theme for the school year is “I will make you fishers of men,” and Principal Traci Kessler is proud of such an inspirational pur- pose. “Our goal is always to form inten- tional disciples of Christ, “ stated Kessler, “and what better way to do that than through promoting this important teaching from Matthew’s Gospel.” Following Mass, Father Godfrey carried the monstrance into each classroom and blessed the students. Within his prayer, Father Godfrey reminded the students that with the blessing, Jesus was in their presence throughout the entire school year. Good luck, Nativity BVM Elementary Students!!! Father Godfrey blesses Kenna Elbin’s first grade class. Father Godfrey blesses Cheryl Gruich’s third grade class. Father Godfrey blesses Suzanne Dudiak’s sixth grade class.
