V incent de P aul E lementary S chool , L ong B each Staff Development Day Teachers and staff at St. Vincent dePaul participated in a team-building/faith- sharing activity during their Staff Development Day before school began. Each group was tasked with creating a magazine cover for a fictitious magazine that addressed one of the following topics: 1) As Intentional Disciples and Catholic school teachers, how can we bring our students and their families back to Church?; 2) As Intentional Disciples and Catholic achool teachers, how can we help our stu- dents and their families to understand Jesus’ True Presence in the Eucharist?; or 3) another topic relating to issues facing us today. The ideas were fantastic! Each group presented their ideas to the larger group. Everyone agreed the magazine covers should be put on display for the students and their parents to see. It’s going to be a great school year. E lizabeth S eton P arish , O cean S prings Religious educators workshop As preparation for the 2023-2024 sacramental year at the parish, Deacon Mike Butler presented a workshop based on the Directory for Catechists , developed by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.. CCD teachers, OCIA facilitators, youth ministry team members and parish staff (pastor, secretary and DRE) participated in the work- shop, which was highlighted by fellowship, learning and reflection on the mission of the catechist, the identity of catechist and how to pre- pare and present a lesson.
