Gulf Pine Catholic • April 14, 2023 6 St. Joseph Altars St. Michael Catholic Church, Biloxi St. Michael Parish in Biloxi hosted a St. Joseph Altar on March 18 and 19. This was truly a “ labor of love ” in honor of all mothers. Julie Suarez, along with family and friends, created this beautiful St. Joseph Altar. On Sunday, a shrimp spaghetti lunch was served. Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral, Biloxi The Gulf Coast Italian American Cultural Society (GCIACS) sponsored the fifth Annual Italian/English Mass today at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Biloxi. Father Joseph Dilettuso, chaplain of the society, and the Very Reverend Godfrey Andoh, rector, officiated the Mass in honor of St. Joseph. The Ave Maria was performed by Elizabeth Cobb, soprano, along with the Nativity BVM School’s Children Choir. The Prayer (Boccelli) was performed by Elizabeth Cobb, soprano and Phil Frisby, tenor. Teddy Maddox was the music director. After Mass the members of the society gathered for lunch (shrimp spaghetti, salad and cake). A very heartfelt thanks goes to Jeanette Romero, a devoted Sicilian, for erecting the St. Joseph Altar and members who served luncheon to all who attended. Many came to view the St. Joseph’ Altar at the Sacred Heart Hall, beyond the Cathedral. About 200 people attended the event. Everyone had a great time!
