Gulf Pine Catholic • April 14, 2023 24 Pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life in the Diocese of Biloxi by visiting www.invisiblemonastery.com April 5, 2023 Wednesday of Holy Week Dear Sisters and Brothers in our Lord, “Behold, I make all things new” (Revelation 21:5). Jesus Christ comes to us to make all things new! This is the message of Holy Week. Jesus Christ wants to bring about in us a new creation, and this is the renewal that is being offered to us this Holy Week, revealed in radiance on Easter Sunday. Brothers and Sisters, let us not take this time for granted but become renewed in the Risen Christ. Let us be renewed, as St. Pope John Paul II proclaimed in his 2003 Encyclical Letter, Ecclesia de Eucharistia , in “Eucharistic amazement,” remembering that each time we come to Mass, we encounter the same Risen Christ who conquered sin and death forever. Brothers and Sisters, our Lord is working wonders in our Diocese, and He is doing great things at St. Patrick Catholic High School. We are tre- mendously excited to welcome Paul Knapstein as incoming Principal of St. Patrick Catholic High School, who is eager to continue St. Patrick’s Mission of Forming Intentional Disciples. We are also thrilled to welcome Jennifer Broadus as Superintendent of Education, who comes with a wealth of experience in Catholic Education. This is an exciting time. St. Patrick Catholic High School is experiencing record enrollment and academic success, and we have formulated a team of dedicated teachers and administrators whose goal is not just to prepare students for gradu- ation, but also for heaven. I would like to extend special thanks to Trey Bailey, who is serving as Interim Principal, and to Orin Eleuterius, who is serving as Interim Dean of Students for the remainder of the 2022-23 school year. I ask you to join me in praying for our teachers, administration and students of St. Patrick Catholic High School as they enter into this time of transition and renewal. Let us put our trust in Him who makes all things new! I am remembering you in my prayers and Masses I offer daily. I remain, Sincerely yours in Christ, Most Reverend Louis F. Kihnemann, III Biloxi of Bishop
