28 Gulf Pine Catholic • January 20, 2023 Diocese of Biloxi goes green as Irish priests visit for 70th and final reunion For 70 years, Irish priests have flocked to the Mississippi Gulf Coast for the annual Carlow Reunion, which was originally a gathering of graduates of St. Patrick College in Carlow, Ireland but, in recent years, had expanded to include Irish priets from all over the world. On January 10, Father Paddy Mockler and the people of Most Holy Trinity Parish in Pass Christian hosted the 70th and final reunion. “The numbers just aren’t there so it’s time to put it to rest, said Father Mockler, who, along with Father Tommy Conway and Father Cuddy O’Connell, organized the event over the course of the past three decades. Carlow alumn Bishop Paul Dempsey, bishop of Acohnry, was principal celebrant. Father Ronnie Madden, of the Diocese of Svannah was homilist.
