December 3 Nativity Concert Event BILOXI -- Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral will present a special, liturgical concert-service enti- tled: “Advent Lessons and Musical Reflections” on Sat., Dec. 3.at 3 p.m. in the afternoon. Fashioned after the tradi- tional Christmas: “Lessons and Carols” , this unique scripture and music program illuminates the meaning and depth of the Advent Season of prophecy, expectation and hope as reflected through images of the prophets and the Angel Gabriel. This offering is a part of the Music and Fine Arts Ministry of the Cathedral and is presented by the Community Choirs of “Gloria In Excelsis” and “Mobile Vocal Arts” . Father Godfrey Andoh and members of our retreat team will be presenting. In addition to our guest speakers you will have the oppor- tunity to participate in Adoration and Confession as well as 4 p.m. Mass. A light continental breakfast will be served as well as lunch and dinner (following Mass). The retreat is free to attend and people from all parishes are welcome to join us. There will be a penance service on Dec. 7, 6:30-8 p.m. Leonetti is a nationally known Catholic speaker, best-selling author and radio host who conveys a message of lasting fulfillment in Jesus Christ. December 13-15 Advent Mission…Our Journey with God in Life D’IBERVILLE -- We are pleased to announce that we will have an Advent Mission at Sacred Heart Church on Dec. 13-15 at 6 p.m. Our mission will be conducted by Father Duc Bui, parish priest at Our Lady of the Rosary church in LaRose, LA. Father Duc and his family escaped from Vietnam in 1978 to the United States, where the family was sponsored by an American-Vietnamese family in Dallas, TX, in 1978. After a year the family moved to New Orleans for three years and then to Biloxi where he lived until 1986 when he joined the seminary in New Hampshire with Legionaries of Christ. Father Duc was professed in 1990 and went to Spain. From there he moved around doing missionary work in differ- ent countries before joining the Houma- Thibodeaux Diocese in 2016. He ordained as a priest in Rome in Nov. 2004 together with his cousin, Father Dominic Pham. Please make an effort to attend this mission. Rev. Mr. Michael V. Jenkins, deacon at St. Francis Xavier in Houston, TX, is the revivalist for the Annual Advent Revival. The Revival will take place on Dece. 13-15 at 6 p.m. The theme is “Preparing our hearts to receive Jesus Christ.” On Dec. 15, and at the close of the revival, the Sacrament of Penance will be available.
