12 Gulf Pine Catholic • November 12, 2021 Members of the Knights of Columbus Pere Le Duc Council #1522 from Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church and the Knights of Peter Claver Pere Blanc Council #6 from St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church raked, weeded and freshened up St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bay St. Louis on Saturday, October 16. This is the second consecutive year the two organizations worked together on this project. Knights of Columbus Pere Le Duc Council #1522 and Knights of Peter Claver Pere Blanc Council #6 K nights of C olumbus Recently the Immediate Past Grand Commander Gerard Darnell from Oran Caravan of the Order of Alhambra presented two checks in the amount of $255 each to Jill Tibideaux, the director of Brandi’s Hope in Gulfport and Ann Abrams, site director for Cheshire Group Homes in Gulfport, which is a subsidiary of Saint Francis Ministries. Both of these organizations are homes and work centers for people who are intellectually and developmentally disadvantaged. The Order of Alhambra is an international organization of Catholic men and women whose primary mission is to assist organizations such as those mentioned. Oran Caravan is the local subsidiary of the international organization of Alhambra. The Order of Alhambra has local caravans all across the United States and in Canada. O ran C aravan of the O rder of A lhambra S t . L ucy M ission , L ucedale St. Lucy’s Mission in Lucdale celebrated the Saints with a special All Hallow’s Eve Party. Children dressed as various saints and their parents participated in saint-themed games including “Name that Saint,” “St. Isadore’s Ducks,” and “St. Nicolas Coin Toss.” There was also a costume contest. A dragon pinata made by one of the families was slain by all the saints and several future saints. It was an evening filled with food, fun, and fellowship for young and old alike.
