18 Gulf Pine Catholic • October 29, 2021 Our Lady Academy (OLA) invited fifth and sixth grade girls to experience a day as an OLA Crescent. Over 75 students from Coast Episcopal, Holy Trinity, and St. Vincent de Paul schools partook in the event. The event began with a special prayer service in Our Lady of the Gulf Church. Afterwards, students were afforded tours of the campus by twelve ambassadors who also led them through all the planned activities. The retreat team helped students create salvation brace- lets and spoke to them about their faith and other OLA ministries. The Art Honors Society assisted the students in designing and creating Henri Matisse-inspired cut- outs by collaging organic and geometric shapes onto construction paper. The highlight of the day for them was filming and reporting live the daily news in the WOLA TV station. The event was concluded with OLA’s Robotic Team’s demonstration of their newly completed 2021-2022 robot affectionately named ‘Kevin Hart’ and a special stand-out performance by the award-winning OLA Dance Team.
