20 Gulf Pine Catholic • April 2, 2021 Bishop Kihneman blesses new SVdP Thrift Store in Ocean Springs A ribbon-cutting and blessing for the new St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store was held on March 25. Bishop Louis F. Kihneman III blessed the store, which was established by the St. Maximillian Kolbe Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Ocean Springs. The long-term goal of this new SVdP Thrift Store is to use the profits from sales for establishing a much-needed family homeless shelter in the Ocean Springs area. The store is located at 2200 Bienville Blvd. in the former Goodwill Store, and next to Planet Fitness. It is behind CVS, which is located at the corner of Bienville Blvd. and Bechtel Blvd. SVdP has begun stocking the store and is now accepting donations of clothing, furniture, and house- hold items from parishioners and the general public. Donations can be brought to the rear of the store, or call for pickup. The store will be open six days a week, from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and until 3 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information about the store or to donate, call 228-334-5222. Photos/Juliana Skelton
