LCL In thanksgiving to the Holy Spirit, Blessed Mother and St. Jude, for prayers answered. BAB St. Rose de Lima, Bay St. Louis On the first Friday of every month at St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church parishioners observe Adoration from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. On December 6, the youth of the parish were asked to come with parents or friends to experience and learn about Adoration. When the youth arrived, each was instructed on the proper way to enter the Church when the Blessed Sacrament is exposed. Michael Brewer, a kindergarten student at Holy Trinity Catholic School, immediately upon entering the sanctuary stated “that’s the Monstrance, we have one on the second floor of our school in the Chapel.” That made the evening even more important that we start with our young ones, teaching them about Adoration and its importance. Gwen Lawyer, Director of Generations of Faith at St. Rose, provided the youth with a very interjected discussion on the reasons why weAdore. She explained that we were created to praise the Lord, that Our Lord abides in the praise of his people and that they should find ful- fillment as His peo- ple when we loving- ly Adore Him. Lawyer ended our discussion with this message to the youth: “I jump start my Adoration with Psalms 103 ‘Bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me. Bless His Holy Name.’” Derick Taylor, Jr., a student from West Harrison High School led the youth in song, along with his mother and father. Derick, Jr., a very accomplished musician, stated that he enjoyed playing for the group. Darlene Lee directed the students through the musical selections. St. Rose and Our Mother Mercy lifted Our Lord in song and praise. We were encouraged to see, on a Friday night, that we had over twenty-five youth and parents present to learn and experience the Lord.
