4 Gulf Pine Catholic • October 4, 2019 St. Rose de Lima Parish, Bay St. Louis St. Rose de Lima Church was blessed to have Sister Dorothee Gabrielle Ndzie of the Sister Servants of the Holy Heart of Mary celebrate Mass with them. Sister stated, “To Father Agustinus and all of the people of God in St. Rose Church, I want to express to you my profound gratitude, my heart is full of joy of being here. When one gives God first place, He fills us with surprises, and yes, I experienced it in your community.” Sister Dorothee was born and raised in Cameroun (Cameroon), West Africa, part of a very Christian Catholic family of nine (9) children. Cameroun is called, “miniature Africa” because every- thing you see in Africa is found in Cameroun, for example: lan- guages, cultures, climates, etc. That is the particularity of Cameroun, she stated. The mission of the Sister Servants in Cameroun, as a congregation, is education, health, faith formation, family, with emphasis on the underprivileged people. The mission around the world differs from one place to another according to the needs of the people. Sister Dorothee has been in the United States since 2016 with the mission of faith formation for the people of Hopkins Park, Pembroke, Illinois. Since coming to the United States, Sister has experienced so much joy serving the different communities by volunteering and doing the work of God by visit- ing homes, praying with the people, listening to their needs and encouraging them, celebrating feasts in times of joy, helping the farmers with harvest and going to the schools teaching about Africa. Sister will be returning to Africa in December and asks for your prayers as she will pray for the communities here and know that everyone is welcome to visit Cameroun.
