May 19 St. John the Evangelist Parish Bazaar GULFPORT -- The Spanish Com- munity of St. John the Evangelist Parish is sponsoring a bazaar on Saturday, May 19, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot behind the school. The purpose is to raise money to bring a Spanish speaker to help strengthen faith within the fami- ly. May 20, June 10 Nativity’s 2018 Concert Series BILOXI -- The Music and Fine Arts Ministries Program of Nativity BVM Cathedral is happy to announce two upcoming additions to its’ 2018 Concert Series: Sun., May 20, 3p.m. -- Nativity Cathedral will host a massed choir and will present “A Celebration of Gospels & Spirituals” Concert. This diversified hour program of various Gospel and Spiritual selections will span the Christian Year in theme and will reflect the various styles of writing for these categories of music -- favoring especial- ly the “New Orleans’” style -- sound. The 45-50 voice choir will sing both with accompaniment and a cappella. The concert is free and the public is cor- dially and warmly invited to attend. Sun., June 10, 3 p.m. -- Nativity Cathedral will host the “Magnolia Concert Society” with their late Spring Concert offering of instrumental music -- offering a variety of genre types and styles. The ensemble ranges in size between 20-30 players. This program is under the direction of Dr. Sasha Feirrera. This concert is also free and open to the public. May 31-June 3 Saint Ann Catfish Festival LIZANA --The Saint Ann Catfish Festival will be held May 31-June 3 on the parish grounds, 23529 Hwy 53. Hours of operation will be Thurs. 5-11 p.m., Fri. 5-11 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m.- 11 p.m., and Sun. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. There will be great food and live entertainment, carnival rides, children’s games, Bingo, silent auction, and much more. June 1 St. James Movie Night GULFPORT -- St. James Parish will host a family movie night on June 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Center, 366 Cowan Road. Admission is free. The featured presentation is “Meant to Be.” In this delightful film, Nathan (Bradley Dorsey) questions his purpose in life and decides to track down Linda (Erika Eleniak), his birth mother.
