Several St. Patrick Catholic High School students placed in the State Level Science and Engineering Fair, held at Jackson State University on April 5. Natallie Noel placed first in Animal Sciences, Raven Gonsoulin placed third in Botany, and Amelie Million placed fourth in Biochemistry. Shannon Kirkpatrick will represent St. Patrick at the International Science Fair in Pittsburgh. On winning first place in her category, Natallie Noel said, “I was so excited about placing first in the state science fair. It is a wonderful opportunity to show my hard work and enthusiasm in science. Testing the dog foods from a chemistry point of view helped me to better explain the importance of feeding your pet good food that is easily digestible. This is important so the pet stays healthy and lives a long time as an important member of the family.” Natallie Noel St. Patrick High School, Biloxi Pictured left, l-r, are Shannon Kirkpatrick, Richard Springer and Amelie Million Several St. Patrick students walked away with individual awards at Mississippi Association of Student Councils Conference held recently in Oxford, including: • Amelie Million, who received Council Member of the Year. • Richard Springer, who received Outstanding President and the Dale D. Hawdy Leadership Award. • Shannon Kirkpatrick, who received Best Project for Teacher Secret Santa. • Principal Matt Buckley also received MSASC Administrator of the Year. The St. Patrick High School Science Olympiad Team placed third at the 2018 Mississippi Science Olympiad Competition The event was held Friday, April 6, at the University of Southern Mississippi. The Mississippi Science Olympiad (MSO) is devoted to improving the quality of science educa- tion, increasing student interest in science and provid- ing recognition for outstanding achievement in sci- ence education by both students and teachers.
