Other awards presented were the Bragg Moore Award, the Brenda Sargent Award and the Ann Rivera Faith through Service Award, which was established to honor the memory and ministry of Ann Rivera, who served 18 years at Morning Star Pregnancy Care Center. It is sponsored by the staff of Catholic Charities and seeks to recognize an individual who is a quiet servant of Christ, who shares their faith through kindness and service to others, and who believes that service to others is our Christian responsibility. Unless otherwise noted, each award winner is pictured with Ray Lacy, director of the Office of Youth Ministry and Bishop Kihneman. Bishop Kihneman led his first roll call and quickly found out that it was an opportunity to let down his hair or, more appropriately, put on his rabbit ears. A book of Memories was set up to honor Brenda Sargent, longtime assistant in the Diocese of Biloxi’s Office of Youth Ministry, who died on March 22.
