Avery won the Interview and Self Expression categories. Lauren was the overall winner and was named the Distinguished Young Woman of Pascagoula 2019, in addition to winning the Scholastic and Fitness categories. We look forward to cheering Lauren on when she competes at the state level in Meridian this summer. DYW is a national scholarship program that inspires high school girls to develop their full, individual potential. Contestants are evaluated on scholastics, interview, talent, fitness and self-expression. Preschoolers at Resurrection Catholic School (RCS) celebrated Read Across America Week leading up to Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2. Teachers decorated the hallways, and each day of the week had a theme inspired by one of Dr. Seuss’s books. Students were encouraged to dress up and were treated to special snacks and activities. On Friday, they celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday with a cake and a visit from The Cat in the Hat and “Thing Gammy.”
