This is the first C-PACE financed project located in Larimer County. “We had been wanting to switch from electric to gas at this property for some time, but traditional financ- ing options simply did not provide an adequate return on investment,” said Ryan Behm, managing member of Chief Cornerstone Properties. “Then Mark Shadowen of Air Comfort Inc. introduced us to Colorado C-PACE. We realized C-PACE financing could enable us to move ahead with an energy-efficient, environmentally beneficial and much-needed upgrade. What’s more, Colorado’s C-PACE pro- gram offers open-market access to a deep roster of prequalified financial institutions, meaning that we could be confident that we would move ahead with the most attractive financing option.” Bank of Colorado will finance the project. “This is the second C-PACE project we’ve financed, and we’re delighted to once again help a long- time client pursue energy-efficient upgrades that increase their asset’s value and, at the same time, benefit the community,” said James McGrath, Bank of Colorado loan officer. Q Centre Point Properties will install multiple energy-efficiency improve- ments throughout its 83,018-square- foot high-rise building known as The Forum, located at 425 S. Cherry St. in Glendale. What could have been a financial burden became an affordable investment. Better yet, should we decide to sell the property, the repayment obligation can pass to the new owner. C-PACE was definitely created with building owners and investors in mind.” The project is expected to save more than $1.26 million in energy costs over the useful life of the equipment and, once installed, is estimated to increase the value of the building by more than $780,000.
