Milender White is again an
accredited quality contrac-
tor in Colorado and Southern
California with its status being
renewed for the third year in a
row by the Associated Builders
and Contractors.

Balfour Senior Living, based in
Louisville, and United Proper-
ties, with offices in Minnesota
and Denver, have announced a
new partnership to develop and
own a 74,000-square-foot senior
living community at 8290 W.
Coal Mine Ave. in Littleton.
The community is slated for
occupancy in 2017.
Award-winning
Boulder-
based DTJ Design will design the
project’s interiors and exterior.
The new community will have
an “equestrian-themed” design
that is inspired by local rural
architecture and will feature
approximately 56 assisted living
apartments and 26 memory care
units, with a total of 82 homes.
Other features include a large
common area for educational,
political, university and commu-
nity events – a hallmark of the
Balfour brand – walking paths
and hobby areas.
This move marks United Prop-
erties’ first senior housing devel-
opment in Denver; it has 12 such
projects in the Minneapolis area,
with two more under construc-
tion.

senior living apartment homes

Pinkard Construction recently
completed Veritas Management
Group’s The Center at North-
ridge, a 75,700-square-foot, high-
end skilled nursing and rehabili-
tation facility inWestminster.
Designed by H+L Architec-
ture, the 3-story, steel-framed
building has 96 private patient
suites, 16 of which are obser-
vation rooms with oxygen and
medical vacuum systems.
“The goal of the project was
to provide a space that allows
a patient/family member to
step into a luxurious would,”
said Curtis Hendershott, project
manager for H+L. “The com-
mon spaces, rehabilitation gym,
and patient room designs create
a unique experience for patients
and families. Thedesignarchives
an operationally efficient envi-
ronment that inspires healing.”
There is also a full-service
kitchen and fine-dining area,
salon, large lobby and fireplace,
offices and activity areas. Other
amenities include scenic moun-
tain and city views of fully
adjustable hospital beds and
pressure relieving mattresses,
flat-screen TVs in every room,
free wireless internet, gourmet
meals and limited transportation
to appointments and dialysis.
The center’s services are
geared toward patients who
want to recover and get back to
a normal, healthy lifestyle.
