LAI Design Group: Coleman Global
Center for Innovative Housing Excellence
Golden Triangle Construction completes
First Citizens Bank building in Meridian
Teammates outfits FCI Constructors:
Incorporates modern, masculine style
L
ocated in Houston, the Coleman Global Center will be the leading nonprofit
development and think-tank for affordable housing design in the United
States. As a research, learning, business and nonprofit link for policy mak-
ers in the region, CGC will work with regional, national and international leaders
to 1) preserve existing housing resources; 2) develop coordinated strategies for
regional affordable housing development; 3) provide independent housing policy to
stake holders and the community at-large; and 4) serve as an international model
for housing solutions for communities of need. The building is 35,000 square feet
housed in five stories.
G
olden Triangle Construction recently completed construction on First Citizen
Bank’s new location in Englewood. The project, designed by Davis Part-
nership Architects, includes two open-air loggias, a feature reminiscent of
Roman columns that defined covered, open-air seating areas. On a third side, the
cast-stone-detailed building also has a drive-through. Construction began in April
2015 and was substantially completed earlier this year.
First Citizens Bank – Meridian marked the 21st successful bank-project collabo-
ration between Davis Partnership and GTC, which has completed an average of four
to five bank projects per year over the past two decades.
T
eammates recently completed furniture design and installation for FCI Con-
structors’ 12,700-square-foot Building in Frederick. The design challenge
was to create solutions for job-specific spaces, both for private offices and
workstations in a masculine, modern style.
The Teammates solution included Teknion Expansion Desking workstations with
shared storage and tackable screens with glass accent. For the private offices,
height adjustability was a must, so Teammates proposed electric, L-shaped, height-
adjustable tables with modular and mobile storage, as well as several custom wood
offices with high contrast finishes.
White Construction Group completes
Medved Autoplex renovations
W
hite Construction Group recently completed renovations at Medved Auto-
plex in Castle Rock. This project was phased to allow half of the show-
room and operations to remain open during construction and only mini-
mally impact day-to-day operations.
The $1 million upgrades at Medved Chevrolet showroom included new lighting,
paint, flooring and millwork. Walls were removed and the customer area was relo-
cated to create more open space. The service drive was updated with new interior
paint throughout and lighting upgrades at the customer contact location. Exterior
upgrades included a new aluminum composite material panels and a new front
sign entry tower.
The $200,000 upgrades at Medved Ford South included interior demolition,
structural changes and an expansion to the parts room. Upgrades at Medved Dodge
included structural repairs, mezzanine modifications for parts storage and redirect-
ing water flow from the building entrance.
